What PriorLex is

PriorLex is a legal process infrastructure project. Across its four sites — PriorLex.us, TrafficTicketPath.com, CaCourtFinder.org, and Juratrack.com — it helps users orient inside official procedures: understanding routine workflow steps, identifying which California court a matter belongs to, organizing case dates and documents, and surfacing publicly available information about courts, forms, and procedure.

Everything PriorLex outputs is general informational content drawn from publicly available rules, schedules, and procedural patterns. PriorLex outputs are not customized legal recommendations and are not produced by analyzing your specific facts under controlling law.

What PriorLex is not

Unauthorized practice of law

Under California law, the practice of law in California is restricted to active members of the State Bar of California (see Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §§ 6125–6126). PriorLex does not, and does not intend to, hold itself out as authorized to practice law. If any output of any PriorLex product appears to interpret your specific facts, recommend a specific course of action, or otherwise resemble legal advice, you should treat that output as general information only and consult a licensed California attorney before relying on it.

No attorney-client relationship

Using any PriorLex product, submitting information through any form or survey, contacting PriorLex by email, or otherwise interacting with the sites does not create an attorney-client relationship. Communications with PriorLex are not protected by attorney-client privilege and are not confidential in the legal sense. If you need a confidential legal communication, contact a licensed attorney directly.

No reliance

You should not rely on any PriorLex output as a substitute for the advice of a licensed attorney with knowledge of your specific situation. We encourage you to independently verify any time-sensitive or fact-specific information — including deadlines, fees, and county procedures — directly with the relevant court or a licensed attorney before acting on it.

If your matter is serious — for example, a criminal charge, an immigration consequence, a license suspension, or anything where your liberty, livelihood, or status is at stake — consult a licensed attorney before relying on any information from PriorLex.

When to consult a licensed attorney

You should consult a licensed California attorney if you are unsure whether the information PriorLex provides applies to your situation, if you face charges that could result in jail time, license consequences, or immigration impact, or if your matter involves disputed facts, complex procedure, or any deviation from a routine process.

You can find a licensed California attorney through the State Bar of California Lawyer Referral Service.

Jurisdiction and scope

PriorLex is built primarily around California state procedure, with a focus on traffic and routine court workflow. Information may not be accurate or applicable outside California, in federal proceedings, or in specialized courts. Procedural rules and court behavior also vary by county; PriorLex makes a reasonable effort to reflect county-level variation but does not guarantee that any specific county's current practice is captured at any given moment.

No guarantee of accuracy

Court schedules, fees, forms, and procedural rules change. PriorLex makes a reasonable effort to keep its information current but does not warrant that any specific page, output, or response is accurate, complete, or up to date as of the time you read it. We strongly encourage you to independently verify any time-sensitive procedural information directly with the relevant court before acting on it.

Third-party links and embedded content

PriorLex sites may link to or embed content from third parties, including court websites, government agencies, and form providers. PriorLex does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site.

Limitation of liability

PriorLex products are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PriorLex disclaims any liability for decisions, actions, or outcomes resulting from use of its products. PriorLex is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of or inability to use any of its sites.
